Reorganising my photos I came across some nice shots of my tour through the french and swiss alps during my trip in summer 2014, where I travelled to the french riviera and back home to cologne/germany.
This is the peak station of the #croixdelafer where the Le Tour de France usually passes by before they finally climb up to Alpe d'Huez ! #zephyr750superbike

I've been a lot on the bike this summer, but the one with no engine! 😀 So in the upcoming autumn 🍂 there'll be hopefully a lot more opportunities to ride through the #eifel, if the weather is fine!

...last October - meanwhile its march and the winter wasn't a real one! Since february the temperatures here in West-Germany are moderate. With nearly no rainfall there were plenty of occasions to put out the bike!

New Front Tire

Pics from the workshop: Zephyr is getting a new front tire today! In the back you can see the next project. It also has a green based livery as the one that was for sale before. We need a new stator for it and a new wishbone, so it still takes some time until we have it ready for sale.

After more than a half year of break I'm back on the bike again! In the meantime I struggled with my shoulder-injurie and to be honest I'm not completely recovererd again, but for the next season it'll work out! Skiing was allright and I bought a shoulder protector from #Dainese that is made for downhill biking - that will do on the Zephyr as well!

 On the photo you see last years project bike that I completed with a new set of bodywork. Still have to paint the rims and then it's ready for selling - any offers?? :-)

Unfortunately!

...unfortunately I had a rendezvous on my way back home with 2 hind of which I hit one with my bike! I'm in hospital now and looking' forward to get well soon!

...Belstaff weather ahead!

 

..on one of my first tests with the new 5x17 rim I was very careful because the tyre was quiet(too) old. I didn't want to risk anything and felt the temperature by hand from time to time, because I had no confidence although the feeling on the backhand was very stable. Driving through the sunny countryside I had a big raincloud in front of me short before I reached home. At least I stayed dry because the thunderstorm started shortly after I was in the house! :o)

I love mondays!

 

In former times you could see a lot more cows in the meadow, but as a result of the current 'milk politics' there are only a few left. You can hardly ignore it if you watch carefully.

 

The weather report started badly with pronouncing some rain at the beginning of the week and  because I spent the whole weekend with working in Frankfurt I was very astonished to see so much sun on monday morning!! - So I decided to transfer my office into one of the cafes of the 'Rurstausee' in the #eifel and made some brakes at nice places just to relax a bit!

....and my first drive lead me to the local #Kawasaki dealer to collect the spare parts for the front brakes that I did order some days ago. After replacing the break pads I realized that the o-rings from the calipers where worn and damaged too. Although the brakes are ok I'm thinking about replacing the whole front system with one (lighter)from the Kawasaki ZRX that I have already at home...let's see! :o)

...Shopping spareparts + "rock am ring"

...the weather forecast predicts a rainy weekend - as usual - when "rock am ring" takes place! If it is not too bad I take a ride @friday night and listen from outside! :o)

Camera fixing tool

 Cheap and awfull !! My new camera fixing tool from #Hama is an easy and reliable opportunity to make some video footage very spontaneously. Just screw any camera or videocamera to it and start filming while you drive. You can easiliy switch the on/off button in full control of the bike. The big screw beneath is for fixing it in the right angle.

In my first attempt I wrapped it directly around the steering bar, but as you can see now( if you look tightly) I put some selfadhesive foam in between to avoid vibrations, although my last video is done without it. Price here in Germany at #Saturn or #Mediamarkt is 14,95€.

Really cheap and recommendable!  

.... short before dawn!

....the reason why I had to change my brakepads! Of course I knew it before - but you know how it is - you drive and drive and drive and drive and think....next time!! But really it was urgent now, the pads where totally gone. 

I bought a cheap camerafixing tool from #hama that can be mounted anywhere if there is a tube. So I made a test and wondered how good it worked out. I was a bit worried about the vibrations but the bigger problem is the autofocus. Unfortunately it doesn't work so well, but perhaps I can fix it in the menu and choose another preset - or buy another camera uuuuhhh!!

...Crowdy day@Eifel

 

...crowdy day in the Eifel! Everyone seems to have activated his bike. Good to have some places that no one knows!!

Police on every corner around "Ruhrstausee" and certain roads that are blocked at the weekend or bankholiday. Not so much fun and you ask yourself why paying taxes doesn't allow yourself to use all roads at all the time!

24h Nürburgring is ahead!!

In the background you can see the PUG-Project, which I'll cover on http://www.gerrimoto.tumblr.com ....due to the weather the progress is very manageable!!

In spite of that the rear wheel conversion is in good progress. The 20mm rear axle from Zephyr 1100 is in the turning shop next village to be shortened. Because of the bank holiday weekend it will be next week when it's finished. ......as you see I carry on fumbling!! :o)
